Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş evaluates the election that resulted in a CHP victory
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stated, "Our nation has chosen the administrators who will govern them for a five-year term and has decided that municipal services should be delivered by their hands. Seeing that everyone respects this decision of our nation is one of the best signs of how mature a democracy Turkey possesses in terms of democratic traditions."

Meeting with parliamentary staff for iftar, Kurtulmuş stated in his speech that the Turkish nation has shown it stands with Gaza, saying, "Our nation has practically mobilized with their prayers, their aid, and whatever they have in their hands to deliver there.
We know of children who sent their small savings to Gaza without touching a single penny. We know of elderly people who sent their monthly pensions and money they had saved for their burial shrouds to Gaza.
Hopefully, with their prayers, our nation is striving for the end of the suffering endured by Muslims and for all people, not just Muslims in Gaza, to be saved from this humanitarian disgrace," he said.
"OUR NATION HAS MADE ITS CHOICE"
Stating that the Turkish nation achieved full democracy after 1950, Kurtulmuş said, "Regarding the local elections of the Republic of Turkey held yesterday, the nation has had its say; at the end of the democratic race, the election results have been reflected without problems all over Turkey, and our nation has made its choice.
Our nation has chosen the administrators who will govern them for a five-year term and has decided that municipal services should be delivered by their hands.
Seeing that everyone respects this decision of our nation is one of the best signs of how mature a democracy Turkey possesses in terms of democratic traditions," he said.
