People's Alliance local election decision: AKP candidates to be supported in 24 provinces, MHP candidates in 5! Here are those cities...

The candidate strategy for the AKP and MHP in the March 31, 2024 local elections has been clarified. Accordingly, the MHP will support the AKP's candidate in 24 provinces, while the AKP will support the MHP's candidate in 5 provinces.

In the local elections to be held in March 2024, the AKP and MHP will compete with a single candidate in some provinces and their own candidates in others.

The AK Party and MHP will form an alliance in 29 provinces for the local elections. Erzincan is among the provinces where an alliance will be formed. In Erzincan, the AKP will not field a candidate and will support the MHP's candidate.

The provinces where the MHP will support the AKP's candidate were announced as Adıyaman, Ağrı, Ardahan, Artvin, Batman, Bilecik, Bingöl, Bitlis, Burdur, Çanakkale, Çorum, Edirne, Giresun, Hakkari, Iğdır, Kırşehir, Muş, Rize, Siirt, Sinop, Şırnak, Tunceli, Yalova, and Zonguldak.

The AKP, meanwhile, will support the MHP's candidate in 5 provinces. These provinces were determined as Erzincan, Bartın, Kars, Kırklareli, and Osmaniye.

The AKP and MHP will enter the elections with their own candidates in 22 provinces. These provinces were determined as Afyonkarahisar, Aksaray, Amasya, Bayburt, Bolu, Çankırı, Düzce, Elazığ, Gümüşhane, Isparta, Karabük, Karaman, Kastamonu, Kırıkkale, Kilis, Kütahya, Nevşehir, Niğde, Sivas, Tokat, Uşak, and Yozgat.

In Erzincan, the joint mayoral candidate of the AKP and MHP is expected to be the incumbent Mayor Bekir Aksun.
