The People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey sets out

''The People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey is being established.

The People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey, which has been in preparation for a long time, is setting out. Many intellectuals, artists, scientists, and politicians, who are already honored to be part of the Republican heritage, have declared their will by saying “I am in.” However, the Assembly carries a claim and meaning far beyond a declaration. The will we are talking about, as an element of the people's will, takes on the task of fighting for equality, independence, and secularism in Turkey together with them.

Representatives of workers, laborers, and student youth will begin to be determined in public meetings to be held starting from November 26, and the People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey will meet for the first time with all its components on December 24, 2023.

The word of the People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey, which will discuss Turkey's burning agendas, produce solutions, enlighten society, and enter into a combative stance, is clear and simple:

Our country was founded through a struggle against imperialist occupation and the rotten Palace. This struggle drew its strength and legitimacy from justice and the people. It achieved success. Imperialist countries have never been able to digest the Republic of Turkey. Reactionism has seized every opportunity to settle scores with the Republic. The capitalist classes, which accelerated their development after the liberation, gradually seized all the wealth of the country. Together, they darkened Turkey. The excitement and hope created by the National Struggle, led by Mustafa Kemal and his friends, gave way to darkness. The gains of a revolutionary period that reached its peak with the founding of the Republic in 1923 were first besieged and eroded, then destroyed.

However, neither the idea of the Republic nor the goal of a secular, independent, sovereign, egalitarian Turkey can be eliminated. We are facing an imperialist world shaped in line with the interests of international monopolies, with its NATO, European Union, occupations, and wars. Those who exploit the religious beliefs of our people and cult structures are suffocating the country. The order of exploitation, which is the source of social inequalities, and the large holdings and monopolies that dominate that order have turned the majority of the people into wage slaves.

We are right, we draw our strength from the hardworking and honest people of this country.

We will succeed again!

''WE WILL DO OUR PART''

Our word is short and concise: We are coming together as people from different segments of society, with different but friendly ideological and political tendencies. What brings us together is our hatred for imperialism and the order of exploitation; our love for the homeland and Republicanism. We want a secular, independent, sovereign country, a statist-planned economy, and a social system where all our citizens will attain prosperity and enlightenment in equality and brotherhood.

The People's Assembly of Representatives of Turkey is the podium for this approach. We will do our part to make this podium, where we freely discuss, speak our word, organize the struggle, and learn from each other with intellectuals, workers, students, and peasants, an achievement for everyone who acts with the same concern, goal, and responsibility.
