Perinçek's assessment of the 'call to lay down arms': 'A great surrender'

At a press conference held at the Ses Theater in Fatih, Vatan Party Chairman Doğu Perinçek stated that as a result of the struggle by the Turkish army and police, the leader of the terrorist organization, Öcalan, has surrendered to reality.

Evaluating Öcalan's message, Perinçek said, "There is no such expression as, 'If the Turkish state does this, we will dissolve the PKK and lay down our arms.' In other words, there are no conditions in the speech for dissolving the PKK and laying down arms. The statement does not present the content of an agreement made with the Turkish state, but rather reveals a unilateral will to surrender."

Perinçek stated that beyond the PKK laying down its arms and being dissolved, he wants the terrorist organization leader Öcalan to make a decision for "integration with the state and society," noting that this is essentially the "one state, one nation" formula.

Pointing out that the "thousand-year voluntary unity" rhetoric in the terrorist organization leader Öcalan's call is also a confession that refutes claims of "forced assimilation," Perinçek spoke as follows:

"Öcalan's statement has dealt a heavy blow to PKK separatism, shattered the morale of separatist terrorist elements, and led to divisions and conflicts within the PKK. Thus, it has led to favorable conditions for the resolution of the problem on the basis of Turkey's independence, unity, and integrity. The problem, which has been solved until today thanks to the neutralization of armed separatism by force of arms, will be brought to a definitive solution again by the weapons of the Turkish army and police. No other practice can be expected for those who do not comply with Öcalan's call and insist on using weapons."

Stating that the process has not concluded with the terrorist organization leader Öcalan's statement, Perinçek continued his words as follows:

"The breaking of the resistance of the PKK's terrorist elements following Abdullah Öcalan's statement has dealt a blow to the US-Israel plan and brought favorable conditions for the Turkish Armed Forces. From now on, the solution to the problem lies primarily in northern Syria and northern Iraq. A historic opportunity has arisen to finish off the elements of the PKK that insist on armed struggle in northern Syria, northern Iraq, and every geography, and Turkey will seize this opportunity and disrupt the US-Israel plan."
