DEM Party Imralı Delegation member Pervin Buldan characterized the planned visit to Imralı Island by a delegation composed of parties with groups in Parliament as a "wish." In a television program she attended on October 11, Buldan had stated, "A 5-person delegation consisting of parties with groups is planned to go. This is the information given to us."

RESPONSE FROM CHP: "VISITING IMRALI IS NOT ON THE AGENDA"

Following Buldan's statements, a response came from CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir. Emir stated, "Going to Imralı is not on the commission's agenda," noting that this issue had never been brought up in parliamentary meetings. Emir further added, "In the meetings we held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of Parliament, going to Imralı was never put on the agenda. The Speaker of Parliament did not feel the need to seek any opinion on this matter either."

"NECESSARY FOR THE PROCESS TO MOVE FORWARD"

Speaking to Tele1, Pervin Buldan clarified her words, stating that they believe the commission should go to Imralı. Buldan said, "We insist that the commission go to the island. We think it should go. We believe it must go for the process to progress in a healthy way, and I certainly tried to express it as a wish."

CLARIFIED HIGHLY DEBATED MEDIA REMARKS

Buldan also clarified the assessments regarding her criticism of the media during her meeting with Abdullah Öcalan. Stating, "I could never have a thought about the media, such as silencing the media," Buldan noted the following:

"I did not mean such a thing. I only expressed that the speeches and evaluations made should serve peace."
