President Erdoğan called United States President Donald Trump by phone to convey his best wishes regarding the attempted attack that took place at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington recently.
In a statement issued by the Directorate of Communications regarding the call, it was noted that President Erdoğan described the incident as a heinous attack on democracy and freedom of the press. It was also noted that Erdoğan expressed his hope for the security officer injured in the incident to recover as soon as possible.

"Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone conversation with United States President Donald Trump.
