Poll: What would happen if corruption allegations were about AKP members? More than half of the public thinks this!

The latest poll conducted by Gündemar Research across Turkey has revealed how the increasing detentions and arrests targeting CHP municipalities are perceived by the public. While 54 percent of the participants evaluated these arrests as "unjust and political," only 18 percent stated that they found them "lawful and appropriate."

In the study, when asked, "If the corruption allegations were about AKP mayors, would the same procedures be applied?" 60 percent of the participants answered "no, they would not be applied." 22 percent said "yes, they would be applied." While 16 percent of the participants stated that it was too early to make an assessment, 12 percent expressed that they had no opinion on the matter.
