Praise for Erdoğan from Kürşad Zorlu, who joined the AKP: 'They don't understand what kind of table he is setting'

Having resigned from the İYİ Party to join the AKP, Deputy Chairman Kürşad Zorlu made assessments regarding Turkey's position in the international arena during a speech at his party's Erzurum Provincial Headquarters. Reporting that the Organization of Turkic States has reached a GDP of 4.7 trillion dollars, Zorlu noted that the organization has become the 13th largest union in the world.

Reminding that the Organization of Turkic States was established in 2021 and that the Turkic World Vision 2040 document was adopted, Zorlu said that relations between Central Asia and Turkey have developed with these steps. Zorlu stated that they are carrying out work to increase cooperation in every field of the Turkic world.

Arguing that Turkey has become a powerful country in the world thanks to Erdoğan's leadership, Zorlu used the following expressions:

'There are those who do not understand where and what kind of table Turkey is setting. As for us, we are working with a President who has placed the compass right in the middle of that table and is traveling the world.'

'I AM EXCITED ABOUT MY NEW ROLE'

Stating that he entered active politics in 2022, Zorlu said, 'I joined the AKP on January 21st at the invitation of our President. I was elected as a member of the MKYK at the 8th Ordinary Grand Congress held on February 23rd.' Expressing that he is excited about his new role, Zorlu said that the establishment of the Presidency for Relations with Turkic States crowned this process.

Drawing attention to the economic and geographical size of the Turkic world, Zorlu stated the following:

'Today, we are talking about a Turkic world with a gross domestic product of 4.7 trillion dollars. We have become the 13th largest union in the world, spreading over an area of 4.5 million square kilometers and with a population approaching 200 million. In the geography extending from the Altai Mountains to the Mediterranean, and from Europe to the borders of China, Turkey is in a central position that stands against injustices.'

Zorlu claimed that Turkey has become the voice of oppressed communities not only in its region but all over the world. Noting that Turkey takes its place as an important actor in the new world order, Zorlu underlined that they will continue to work to protect this position of the country.

Touching upon the cooperation proposals coming from the Turkic world, Zorlu added the following:

'In this process, we are receiving cooperation requests from many countries. Hopefully, we will share these proposals with our nation and strengthen our unity.'
