Preparations complete: The slogan for the CHP's 39th Ordinary Congress has been announced

The CHP Central Executive Board met under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. The meeting addressed recent political developments, particularly the IBB indictment, and preparations for the upcoming 39th Ordinary Congress.

According to a report by Birgün, party sources stated that a large-scale effort is underway to counter the accusations contained in the IBB indictment. It was also reported that the congress slogan has been determined as “Now is the time for power.”

THE FINAL STRETCH BEFORE THE CONGRESS

It was stated that preparations for the 39th Ordinary Congress, to be held in the CHP on November 28-29-30, have reached the completion stage. A special promotional event for the Party Program will be held before the congress, which is planned to take place at the Ankara Arena and be open to the public.

FOUR-PILLAR PARTY PROGRAM

CHP officials emphasized that the new Party Program will be structured to “evolve into a Government Program.” In the program, which will consist of four main pillars, education, health, and justice were listed as “areas requiring urgent intervention.”

In this context, priority policies will include “a curriculum based on scientific criteria” in education, “strengthening primary care” in health, and “restructuring the HSK (Council of Judges and Prosecutors)” in justice. Academics are also planned to be invited to the promotional event.

TO BE DELIVERED TO DELEGATES IN ADVANCE

The Party Program will be shared with delegates before the promotion. It will then be presented and voted on at the congress, and announced to the public after its adoption. Special teams will be established to explain the program throughout the country.

It is stated that neighborhood representatives will also be tasked with conveying the prepared government program to voters.

EXPECTATION OF AN OPEN LIST IN THE PARTY ASSEMBLY ELECTION

It is stated that the Party Assembly (PM) elections at the congress will be conducted using an open list (çarşaf liste) method. Accordingly, 52 members of the PM will be elected through this method, while eight members will be selected from the Science, Culture, and Arts Platform, which is described as the “Chairman's quota.”

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is expected to prepare a 52-person key list. Another possibility mentioned is that he could create a broader 70-person key list for the 60-person PM.

A NEW ERA IN THE MYK

It was reported that a change is planned in the structure of the CHP MYK. With the arrangement, which officials describe as a “reasonable and balanced change,” it was stated that the number of MYK members will be reduced to 15.

Additionally, information was shared that the names in the CHP's shadow cabinet will be assigned to the Presidential Campaign Office, and that Özel will chair meetings of both the MYK and this new structure.

PREPARATION AGAINST THE IBB INDICTMENT

It was reported that work is being carried out against the file described within the CHP as the “İmamoğlu indictment.” It was announced that party lawyers have begun to examine the indictment in detail in two separate teams.

While a technical analysis is being conducted at the CHP Headquarters, the team established in Istanbul will work on the headings in the indictment that are considered “slander.”

PREPARATION FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION

It was stated that after the examination is completed, the CHP will provide comprehensive information regarding the accusations. In this context, a study titled “Facts Against Slander” will be prepared and presented to the public through various channels, including social media.

‘COUNTER-ATTACK’ STRATEGY

CHP officials gave the message that they will “go on the counter-attack” in the new period. It was reported that files regarding irregularities during the AKP era, starting from President Erdoğan's term as IBB Mayor, will be brought to the agenda.

Information was shared that although there is no official assignment in this area, both deputies and deputy chairmen are working on the files.
