New Welfare Party (YRP) Chairman Dr. Fatih Erbakan signaled a potential electoral alliance with the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) during a program he attended recently. Erbakan hinted that the alliance could take shape in the near future, stating, "A synergy could be created by forming an electoral alliance with formations close to the National View (Milli Görüş) line, such as the Felicity Party and the Future Party."
PREPARATIONS FOR A "NATIONAL VIEW ALLIANCE" BETWEEN YRP AND FELICITY PARTY
According to information obtained, the YRP and the Felicity Party are continuing their negotiations to unite under the name "National View Alliance." According to a report by Nefes parliamentary correspondents Tarık Işık and Mahmut Aydın, the talks between the two parties are progressing positively. While the parties expressed their satisfaction with the process, they indicated their confidence in the direction of the negotiations with the expression "Maşallah."
MERGER TO TAKE PLACE UNDER THE YRP UMBRELLA
According to a report by Yeniçağ, if the merger takes place, the National View movement will enter the upcoming general elections under a single roof. The alliance is planned to be completed under the YRP umbrella. The parties are certain that the alliance will surpass the 7% electoral threshold. This merger is described as a significant strategic step for the two parties, which aim to achieve a strong result in the elections.
NO ALLIANCE OFFER SENT TO DEVA AND FUTURE PARTIES
The DEVA Party and the Future Party, however, were not invited to the National View alliance. The fact that these two parties are not included in the alliance is notable, particularly due to the impact of past intense conflicts. It is stated that the AKP is carefully monitoring the relations between the DEVA Party and the Future Party, and that any potential rapprochement between these political movements is being closely followed by the ruling party. On the other hand, the recent meetings the AKP has held with the leaders of the DEVA Party and the Future Party, as well as the rapprochement achieved at receptions, have also been a notable development.
HISTORICAL PROCESS OF THE NATIONAL VIEW MOVEMENT
The National View movement took its place in the political arena in 1970 with the National Order Party, founded under the leadership of Necmettin Erbakan. This was followed by the National Salvation Party (MSP) and the Welfare Party (RP) era. After the closure of the RP in 1998, the Virtue Party was established. When the Virtue Party was also closed by a Constitutional Court decision in 2001, the movement split into two: the "Reformists," who joined the AKP saying "we have taken off the National View shirt," and the "Traditionalists," who formed the Felicity Party. During this process, after Necmettin Erbakan's leadership ended, the New Welfare Party was founded by his son, Fatih Erbakan. Both the YRP and the Felicity Party maintain their loyalty to their founding leader, and a portrait of Necmettin Erbakan hangs in the headquarters of both parties.
