Preparations for presidential candidate begin: All eyes in CHP turn to that date for primary election
Preparations continue within the CHP, which has decided to determine its presidential candidate through a primary election. It has been learned that the roadmap for the primary will be determined at the CHP Party Assembly (PM) meeting on February 10.

The Republican People's Party (CHP) plans to complete the primary election to determine its presidential candidate for the next general election by the end of March or, at the latest, the first week of April.
According to information obtained from party sources, following CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's announcement that the party's presidential candidate would be determined by a primary, the Party Assembly (PM) meeting to be held at the Headquarters on February 10 has gained even greater importance.
It is expected that the roadmap for the primary election, which will take place after the criteria for potential presidential candidates are announced by the Central Executive Board (MYK), will be discussed at the PM.
BALLOT BOXES TO BE SET UP IN PROVINCIAL AND DISTRICT CENTERS
It is stated that the meeting will discuss the directive prepared for the primary election, as well as the date and method by which approximately 1 million 600 thousand CHP members will vote among the presidential candidates announced by the party.
In this regard, it has been learned that there is a favorable view toward setting up ballot boxes in designated areas at provincial and district centers, and that preparations are being made to use sealed ballots and envelopes prepared by the party, similar to those used in elections conducted by the Supreme Election Council.
WORK TO BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF APRIL
It has been suggested that in order to prevent an excessive number of presidential candidates from competing in the primary, those wishing to apply for candidacy will be expected to secure the support of party organs.
While the primary election is planned to be completed by the end of March or the first week of April at the latest, it is expected that the final form of all preparations and work in this area will be determined at the PM meeting.
On the other hand, it is stated that the PM will also discuss the path to be followed regarding CHP Chairman Özel's announcement at his party's parliamentary group meeting, where he stated that CHP deputies would cover the compensation for some lieutenants who were "dismissed from the armed forces" this year, in addition to the compensation for the 5 lieutenants who were dismissed from the Tuzla Infantry School last year.
