As Turkey leaves the March 31 Local Elections behind, a wind of change has begun to blow through political parties.

Following the decision by İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener to call for a convention and announce that she would not be a candidate, it has been alleged that Felicity Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu will also step down from his post.

The date for the Felicity Party convention is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

According to a report in Gazete Duvar, Felicity Party sources note that the convention could be held at the end of October or the beginning of November. According to party insiders, Temel Karamollaoğlu, who has served as chairman for approximately 8 years, announced to party boards that he would not be a candidate in the ordinary congress to be held in the coming months.

Following Karamollaoğlu's decision to step down, activity has begun in the corridors of the Felicity Party. Five names are coming to the fore in the lobbies to replace Karamollaoğlu.

Felicity Party Spokesperson and Istanbul Deputy Birol Aydın, Kayseri Deputy Mahmut Arıkan, Deputy Chairman Ömer Abdullah Ayhan, Mustafa Kamalak, who served as chairman before Karamollaoğlu, and former deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman are the politicians whose names are mentioned for the chairmanship candidacy.

Party members note that the opinions of the organizations and the members of the General Administrative Board will be influential in the process of determining the chairman candidates, but that a convention where more than one candidate competes for leadership would not be a surprise.
