The following statement was issued by the Directorate of Communications regarding the meeting:

Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 18, 2024.

During the call, Prime Minister Pashinyan congratulated our President on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and our President congratulated Prime Minister Pashinyan on the upcoming Vardavar-Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ.

Our President conveyed his condolences to Prime Minister Pashinyan regarding the recent flood disaster in the northern regions of Armenia. During the meeting, both leaders emphasized their political will to fully normalize relations between Turkey and Armenia without preconditions.

In this context, the leaders pointed to the importance of continuing the meetings between the Special Representatives of the two countries and reaffirmed the issues agreed upon so far.

The leaders also noted with satisfaction the ongoing dialogue between high-level officials of Turkey and Armenia, and discussed recent developments in the region and the international agenda.
