President Erdoğan wears a kalpak

A delegation from the World Ahiska Turks Association visited President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace. The delegation presented a traditional kalpak to Erdoğan, and the rights and citizenship issues of the Ahiska Turks were discussed.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received a delegation from the World Ahiska Turks Association at the Presidential Palace. During the meeting, the return of Ahiska Turks to their homeland and the processes for obtaining Turkish citizenship were discussed.

Erdoğan stated that these issues are being followed both in bilateral relations and before international organizations. It was also noted that embassies provide continuous support on matters concerning Ahiska Turks.

President Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of acting under the guidance of umbrella organizations to protect the rights of kinsmen. He stated the necessity of using energy efficiently so that the Turkish community can reach better positions.

Emphasizing that special attention should be paid to Ahiska youth, Erdoğan said that the 81st anniversary of the tragic exile is also being observed. In this context, it was stated that commemoration events and conferences are held in Turkey every year.

GIFT FROM THE DELEGATION

At the end of the meeting, the World Ahiska Turks Association delegation presented a traditional kalpak to President Erdoğan. The presentation of the gift was carried out as part of the official program of the visit.
