Burhanettin Duran, who succeeded Fahrettin Altun as Presidential Communications Director, reacted to Özgür Özel’s statements regarding President Erdoğan via his social media account. In his post, Duran stated that anger and insults begin where ideas and solution proposals end in politics, adding that Özel’s behavior sends the wrong message to both his own base and the public.
Duran stated, "The CHP Chairman is trying to manage the political bottleneck and disintegration he has entered in recent days with this tone. The situation of 'the bottom of negative politics' based on insults is unacceptable and unsustainable."
THE PUBLIC DID NOT REWARD IT, HISTORY WILL NOT FORGET THE SHAME
In the continuation of his statement, Duran argued that the tone used by Özgür Özel has been a heavy burden throughout history:
"Özgür Özel needs to rid himself of this current language of insult, which everyone should condemn with equal intensity, as soon as possible. History is full of politicians who have carried the shame of words spoken in such anger and delusion for years. Our people have never rewarded this tone."
