Following CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's announcement that a primary election will be held to determine his party's presidential candidate, the rules for this process have been clarified. The rules are as follows:
- Individuals wishing to be candidates will submit a candidacy application
- Only Members of Parliament, Party Assembly (PM) members, and Provincial Chairs will be able to nominate candidates
- Those who collect at least 25 signatures will be able to enter the primary election
- Candidates will be able to conduct campaigns
- Individuals who meet the presidential candidacy criteria listed in Article 101 of the Constitution will be able to become candidates
- Membership lists will be posted for review
- The primary election will be held under party supervision
- The primary election will be conducted on the determined date with the participation of all members.
