The Maltepe rally, held against the imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and attended by more than 2 million people, has become the center of Turkey's agenda.
The CHP invited citizens to the rally with the call, "The word is ours now! Come too, so that this injustice and lawlessness may end!"
The rally was packed to capacity with citizens participating from all corners of Istanbul. While a strong voice was raised against İmamoğlu's imprisonment at the rally, many political parties also provided support. Representatives from the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi), TİP, Victory Party (Zafer Partisi), Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), DEVA Party, EMEP, DEM Party, and Democrat Party also took the stage.

At the rally, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that 2 million 200 thousand people attended and addressed the crowd protesting İmamoğlu's arrest. Stating, "This crowd is a reflection of the people's demands for justice and freedom," Özel emphasized the importance of the rally.
