A parliamentary research motion prepared to prevent the transfer of members of parliament was not accepted due to the votes of the AKP and MHP.

According to a report by Veli Toprak from Sözcü, Yeni Yol Group Deputy Chairman Selçuk Özdağ recalled the statements made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the past regarding MPs who left the AKP, stating, "Is Erdoğan also saying, like Demirel, 'Yesterday was yesterday, today is today'? The master is playing with us."

Özdağ cited the example of Hakan Şükür, who previously resigned from his AKP parliamentary seat, and said: "At the time, Erdoğan had said, 'If one enters an election under a party flag, they should act with that party; if they leave, they should honestly resign from their parliamentary seat as well.'"

CHP Aydın MP Bülent Tezcan, meanwhile, described MPs who frequently change parties as "Political Evliya Çelebi," saying, "They are in one place in the morning, and in another in the afternoon."
