In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that certain decisions were taken to maintain public order throughout the province and to prevent potential provocative actions.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Protest actions that began following the detention of IMM President and expected CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu have spread across the country. Outside of Istanbul, the largest protests took place in Izmir and Ankara.
Following this, the Izmir Governor's Office announced in a statement today that holding meetings, protest marches, and press statements has been banned for 5 days. After Izmir, the Ankara Governor's Office also declared a 5-day protest ban.
Following Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara, a "ban" decision has now been taken for Manisa as well.
