Question from CHP deputy to Minister Işıkhan: Do you have a project that can solve the youth unemployment problem?

CHP Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erolsubmitted a parliamentary question to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) for Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan to answer.

In his question, Gürsel Erol addressed the problem of youth unemployment.

"UNPLANNED AND INADEQUATE STATE SUPPORT..."

Erol stated, "Especially in recent years, looking at the results of observations and research conducted on the young population in our country, we can say that young people are facing intense problems. At the forefront of these are the structural problems of the Turkish education system that have persisted for years, These include unplanned and insufficient support provided to young people during their education, as well as a lack of employment opportunities after graduation. Poor planning in the education system makes it difficult for young people to receive adequate training at international educational standards and reduces their chances of pursuing a career in their desired fields.

State support, which is provided in an unplanned and insufficient manner, fails to adequately meet the needs of young people. Today, one in every four young people in Turkey is considered unemployed, and youth job opportunities are decreasing day by day,” he said.

"DO YOU HAVE INVESTMENTS TO SOLVE THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM?"

Erol asked Minister Işıkhan the following questions:

“What is the total number of unemployed youth across Turkey? What are your employment policies for youth in Turkey for the year 2024? Do you have a project that can solve the youth unemployment problem in Turkey? Do you have any programs to ensure the participation of young people in employment programs for different professions? If so, what are they? What is the total number of unemployed youth in Elazığ? Do you have any investments made to solve the youth unemployment problem in the province of Elazığ? If so, what are they?”
