Question on the party congress for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP Chairman following the 'absolute nullity' ruling issued by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice on May 21, left his home this morning. As he was leaving, a journalist asked Kılıçdaroğlu, "The delegates have collected the necessary signatures for a congress; what will you do when the signatures are presented to you?" However, Kılıçdaroğlu did not respond to this question, instead boarding his vehicle and departing for the party headquarters.

In the latest development within the party, the signature collection initiative launched yesterday at the call of elected Chairman Özgür Özel yielded results in a short time. In the campaign launched to hold an extraordinary congress, the required number of delegate signatures was exceeded within an 8-hour period, and it was learned that as of today, the number of signatures has surpassed 800.

CONGRESS TAKES CENTER STAGE

During a meeting with journalists held recently for the Eid al-Adha holiday, Kılıçdaroğlu had approached the CHP leadership's call for a congress by stating, "There can be no congress until the Court of Cassation process is concluded." However, with the rapid growth of the signature campaign, all eyes have turned once again to Kılıçdaroğlu's decision.
