Reaction from Ömer Çelik to Özgür Özel: 'He is running a chaos campaign'

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in a statement made on his social media account. Çelik stated, "He is leading a chaos campaign that attempts to pit our citizens against each other in social life and turn the political arena into a conflict zone."

'THE REAL FIGHT OF THIS MENTALITY IS WITH DEMOCRACY'

Stating that it is impossible to call the language used by Özel a language of political opposition, Çelik said, "This language is the product of a mentality that poisons the political environment and tries to trigger fault lines in our social life. The real fight of this mentality, which calls the elected Presidency a junta, talks about declaring war on the Parliament Speaker, targets the political legitimacy of our Government, and tries to build walls between social segments, is with democracy."

Çelik used the following expressions:

"CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is leading a chaos campaign that attempts to pit our citizens against each other in social life and turn the political arena into a conflict zone. This campaign is similar to political projects that have harmed our democracy throughout our Republican history. We know very well that all of these campaigns and projects target the national will. We will continue to fight most decisively against these campaigns that target the national will and political legitimacy."
