As the treatment of Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder continues in intensive care following his heart surgery, his daughter, Ceren Önder Kandemir, has made a new post on her social media account.
In her message shared today, Ceren Önder wrote, "If you ask me, someone who has managed to become a colonel or a police officer would not tell a person 'may your father die.' Still, I apologize if I have hurt or offended anyone," and added, "Please save your hatred for later if you have any."
The post made by Ceren Önder Kandemir on her X account is as follows:
"Hello everyone, I have been here since the first day to convey news to his loved ones and to ask for good wishes and prayers. I am here knowing that this is a difficult place. I had started posting with a vow not to get angry at bad comments, but I cannot help it; I do get angry. I even feel sad. I have no other medium for support and solidarity, so I will continue to believe in giving you news from here, and hopefully, giving you good news in the end. Alongside the 2 messages spewing hate, I see millions of wishes and I feel good for a moment. I was not aware that those spewing hate were colonels or police officers; I never looked at who they were because, if you ask me, someone who has managed to become a colonel or a police officer would not tell a person 'may your father die.' Still, I apologize if I have hurt or offended anyone. Please save your hatred for later if you have any; I am not as stoic as my father, and it is very difficult for me to remain as calm as he is. When my father wakes up, you can sit and argue for hours. I am at the hospital; I am ready to embrace and to reconcile. I am also ready to be a sibling to everyone who is waiting for a patient or who has experienced loss and been left without a sibling. Respectfully, Ceren."

WHAT HAPPENED?
Ceren Önder had shared a childhood photo taken with her father yesterday. Retired Colonel Orkun Özeller had written, "If your father recovers, there are many questions you need to ask," and said, "I wish your father, who is in contact with a terrorist organization, had also told those who rebelled against the state and took up arms to stop, so that they too could have grown up in their father's arms like you."
Upon this, Ceren Önder addressed Özeller, stating, "You are foolish enough to write these things about someone who has dedicated his life to ensuring that these things you write come to an end. You will burn in hell for writing these things to someone who postponed his surgery so that those children would not be left fatherless."
