The Republican People's Party (CHP) announced its mayoral candidates at a meeting held in Ankara yesterday (February 18).

The name of Lütfü Savaş, whose candidacy has caused controversy both in the public eye and within the party, was not announced at the candidate introduction meeting.

While the omission of Savaş's name led to claims that the Hatay candidate might be changed, a remarkable post came from Savaş's wife, Nazan Savaş.

Nazan Savaş shared a photo of herself with her husband with the note “We are continuing on our path.”


It was noted that the post, which did not contain any CHP logo or emblem, also did not mention the party name.
