Regarding the matter, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor Oktay Saral made a remarkable statement on his X account.

Recalling Zeyrek's statement about being threatened, Saral emphasized that the veil of mystery must be lifted as soon as possible.

"The late Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek has passed away, plunging his family and loved ones into mourning; may God have mercy on him. However, he had left behind a statement indicating that he was being threatened. This veil of mystery must be cleared up as soon as possible; if there is a situation of assassination, the most severe punishment must be given."
