İYİ Party Ankara Deputy Yüksel Arslan, known for his closeness to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, has resigned from the İYİ Party following Meral Akşener's targeting of Yavaş.

In his resignation message, Arslan stated, "I believe that supporting another candidate in a province where the party I am a member and deputy of has fielded a candidate is incompatible with political ethics and courtesy. I view supporting Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş not only as a matter of loyalty but also as a humanitarian, conscientious, and moral responsibility."

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ARSLAN AFTER RESIGNATION

Connecting to the Özgür İfade with Cansu Canan Özgen program broadcast on Tv100, Arslan made statements regarding his resignation.

Speaking about Akşener's 'Coward Yavaş' poem, Arslan said, "I was very saddened after that poem; this process developed from that point on."

"AKŞENER SAID 'YOU ARE FREE'"

Arslan's statements are as follows;

"Akşener knows that I am close to Yavaş. Whenever I expressed my views in every meeting, Akşener told me, 'You are free, you are Mr. Mansur's friend. I may not want you to work for our own party or our own candidate.' She didn't say 'Go work there' or anything like that. I do not find this ethical. I do not find it appropriate to be a deputy of one political party and support the candidate of another political party. Therefore, I mentioned this in my statement. I said that Ankara is different from other provinces and I waited patiently for a different solution. After Akşener said in her Uşak speech that such a thing would not happen, I was forced to resign."
