‘Renewal process’ in AKP: Şanlıurfa Provincial Chair dismissed

In Şanlıurfa, where the Yeniden Refah Party won the metropolitan municipality in the March 31 local elections, AKP Provincial Chair Ali İhsan Delioğlu has been dismissed. Previously, the provincial chairs of Zonguldak, Kastamonu, Osmaniye, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Erzincan, and Afyonkarahisar had also been dismissed.

AKP Şanlıurfa Provincial Chair Ali İhsan Delioğlu has been dismissed from his post.

Following his dismissal, Ali İhsan Delioğlu made the following statement on his X account:

“I had been requesting to be relieved of my duties as AK Party Provincial Chair, a position I have held for over a year, for a long time. As of today, I have reiterated this request. The decision rests with our esteemed President and our Headquarters.

On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude primarily to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who deemed me worthy of this honorable duty within the ranks of the AK Party and gave me the opportunity to serve our province, as well as to our Organization Chair Mr. Erkan Kandemir and his team. I would like to thank my colleagues with whom I walked shoulder to shoulder during this challenging process, our supporting Members of Parliament, and all members of the organization at every level with whom I have worked.

Now, I will continue to be by the side of our esteemed President and follow in his footsteps in his struggle, with more enthusiasm and excitement than ever before. The AK Party is the history of Turkey. The AK Party is the faith of Turkey. The AK Party is the future of Turkey. DELİOĞLU HAD MADE CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS

In the March 31 local elections, the Yeniden Refah Party won the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, and Delioğlu's remarks suggesting that seasonal workers were on vacation where they went had also sparked controversy. Delioğlu had argued that his statement was misunderstood following the backlash.

7 PROVINCIAL CHAIRS HAD BEEN DISMISSED

Following the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting chaired by AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on June 24, 2024, 7 AKP provincial chairs were dismissed; changes were made in Zonguldak, Kastamonu, Osmaniye, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Erzincan, and Afyonkarahisar.
