The management crisis in the Republican People's Party (CHP) is growing. Following the 'absolute nullity' decision issued by the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber on May 21, Özgür Özel and his team were removed from their posts, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was brought back to the party's chairmanship. This development has further deepened the debates within the party.

Tensions have escalated between the supporters of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel in the two different camps that formed within the CHP following the court ruling. In the process that has become the main agenda of politics over the last month, a large portion of the delegates, voters, and deputies within the party continue to support Özgür Özel. Claims regarding the establishment of a new party are being kept on the agenda, with particular attention drawn to the date of July 20.

Following the delegate signatures submitted to the CHP Headquarters in recent days, it is being discussed that Özel and his team will apply to the judiciary if a convention is not called. Furthermore, it is stated that if the Court of Cassation does not announce a final decision by July 20, a new political formation could be put into play.

"WE ARE LOOKING INTO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S EYES TO RESIGN"

Striking remarks regarding the course of events in the party came from CHP İstanbul Deputy Suat Özçağdaş. Speaking on the program Abluka with Naz Yavuzarslan, Özçağdaş emphasized that the overwhelming majority of the CHP is ready to act together with Özel, saying, "The vast majority of mayors and deputies are looking into Özgür Özel's eyes to resign from the CHP."
