The Republican People's Party (CHP) emerged victorious in the March 31 Local Elections, receiving 37.7 percent of the vote. CHP leader Özgür Özel, who won the chairmanship election against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the party congress in November 2023, successfully passed his first test, bringing his party to the position of the leading party across Turkey for the first time in 47 years.

While 55.3 percent of those who participated in the poll answered "No" to this question, 31.5 percent answered "Yes."
