Results from the latest Istanbul poll are in! What is İmamoğlu's vote share, and what is the situation for the AKP?

The results of the local election poll conducted for Istanbul by the Reaksiyon Research Company have been revealed.

Turkey will head to the polls for local elections on March 31, 2024. With less than 5 months remaining until the local elections, public opinion research companies have also accelerated their polling efforts.

The results of a poll conducted by the Reaksiyon Research Company—which carries out research for institutions such as the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and Yeşilay—through face-to-face interviews with 1,105 people over the age of 18 living in Istanbul's 39 districts have been revealed.

WHAT IS İMAMOĞLU'S VOTE SHARE?

According to the poll, 58% of Istanbulites say they could vote for İmamoğlu if he becomes a candidate again. 50% of those who say they will not vote for İmamoğlu cite his candidacy for the CHP as the reason.

IS İMAMOĞLU SUCCESSFUL IN ISTANBUL?

29% of those living in Istanbul find İmamoğlu successful. 22% say he is "unsuccessful." According to 25%, "İmamoğlu is neither successful nor unsuccessful!" 13% of Istanbulites think "İmamoğlu is very successful." 11% find İmamoğlu very unsuccessful.

THE RATE OF THOSE WHO SAY "I WILL NEVER VOTE" DREW ATTENTION

58% of Istanbulites say they could vote for İmamoğlu if he becomes a candidate again. 42% say "I will never vote for him." 50% of those who say they will not vote for İmamoğlu cite his candidacy for the CHP as the reason. 29% state they will not vote for him because they do not like the municipal services, and 21% because they do not like him personally.

IS THE CANDIDATE IMPORTANT OR THE PARTY?

66% of voters living in Istanbul say they will cast their vote based on the party. 34% say, "I look at the candidate before I cast my vote."

49.4% of the poll participants stated that they would vote for the AKP in the 2024 local elections. The rate of those saying they would vote for the CHP is 40.1%.

According to the poll, 91% of Istanbulites recognize Murat Kurum, whose name is mentioned among the AKP's metropolitan mayoral candidates. This rate is reflected in the poll as 96% for Fahrettin Koca. Tevfik Göksu's recognition rate is 87%. Şadi Yazıcı's is 83%, and Hilmi Türkmen and Ergun Turan's is 81%.
