Ruling coalition partner gives a figure: 'Pension should be 40 thousand TL'

BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici stated at his party's ordinary provincial congress held in Adana that the lowest pension should be 40 thousand TL. Reminding of the salary increases made at the beginning of 2023, Destici emphasized that the raise rate for pensioners should be increased.

In his statement, Destici said that the 100 percent raise rate applied to civil servants since 2023 should also be applied to pensioners. Expressing that the current level of pensions is unjust, Destici said, "The state is a father; it must be fair to everyone. Whatever you do, wherever you find the funds, you must provide the pensioners with their due rights."

Destici noted that at the beginning of 2023, the lowest pension was 7 thousand 500 TL, and as of 2026, the pension has risen to 20 thousand TL. Stating that civil servant salaries reached 60 thousand TL in the same period, Destici added, "While a pensioner currently receives one-third of a civil servant's salary, they were receiving nearly two-thirds in 2023."

"WE BELIEVE PENSIONERS ARE THE BIGGEST VICTIMS"

Destici stated that the greatest grievance in the country over the last three years has been experienced by pensioners. Emphasizing that the raise to be given to pensioners is the state's responsibility, the BBP leader said, "Pension salaries must be increased to ensure justice."
