Birol Aydın, who was elected as an Istanbul MP from the CHP list in the May 14 elections and is the Saadet Party's candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, attended his party's candidate introduction meeting in Ümraniye.

Making statements regarding the upcoming local elections, Aydın stated that he has been conducting election campaigns for about a month and said, "There is a picture we see: Istanbulites, regardless of which party they support, are not satisfied with either the current situation or Kurum. We have no issues with this or that party, or this or that candidate. Today's Istanbul is not an Istanbul we are used to or will get used to. We have not gotten used to the current state of today's Istanbul, and we will not."

Touching upon Istanbul's transportation issue, Aydın said there would be a 'Pink Metrobus' during peak hours.

Aydın spoke as follows;

"We will definitely and absolutely implement a project we call the Metrobus. Especially in our Istanbul, during the hours when public transportation is most crowded, people travel like sardines. It is essential that we save all Istanbulites from this ordeal. But until we present a permanent solution, we will rescue our seniors over 65, who are most deserving of respect, our disabled citizens, and our women from this ordeal. We will provide them with an alternative transportation option during those hours. This is called the 'Pink Metrobus'."
