Şahan Gökbakar criticized the remarks made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding Arabic signs during a program he attended, using his X account. Gökbakar reacted to the debate over the signs and stated, "We should be talking about how the Arabs will be returned to their countries."

In the post he shared on his social media account, Şahan Gökbakar used the following expressions:

“When Arabic signs are not hung, do 10 million Arab refugees disappear? I mean, does the problem end when you don't see it? Instead of debating signs, we should be talking about how these Arabs will be returned to their countries. But they are not talking about it! This is the greatest injustice done to this country and its people...”
