New allegations have emerged regarding the meeting between Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu, who was arrested on July 30 following an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in prison.

According to the report by Hilal Köylü, Beşikçioğlu made assessments regarding his detention process during the meeting. It is claimed that Beşikçioğlu told Kılıçdaroğlu, "I regret entering politics. If I regain my freedom, I will quit active politics."

Beşikçioğlu is currently being held in custody under the investigation on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes and being a member of the organization," "embezzlement," "bribery," "extortion," "rigging tenders," "rigging the performance of an act," and "misconduct in office."

Following his arrest, it was stated that hair, blood, and urine samples taken from Beşikçioğlu were analyzed and that his cannabis test returned positive. In the report, it was alleged that in his defense regarding this, Beşikçioğlu used the expression, "They offer it in social settings, I can't refuse."
