AKP member Osman Gökçek has filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and Head of the Department of Cemeteries Köksal Bozan, citing serious allegations. Gökçek accused Yavaş of "forming an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "rigging tenders," "bribery," "misconduct in office," and "failure to report a crime."
While submitting the criminal complaint to the Ankara Courthouse, Gökçek stated to members of the press that he was citing the tender for the purchase of paper cups and various materials by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality as an example. Gökçek claimed that it was alleged that 140 million paper cups, 600 tons of garbage bags, and 2,500 typewriter correction products purchased in this tender were distributed to neighborhood headmen (muhtars).
OSMAN GÖKÇEK'S TRUCK CALCULATION
"It is claimed that such a large volume of materials was transported by 5 trucks. However, calculations show that these products would occupy more than 100 trucks," said Gökçek, adding that he would inform the public with concrete images to prove the validity of these claims.
"DISCLOSE THE WAYBILL RECORDS"
Gökçek also demanded the disclosure of documents and waybill records for the deliveries allegedly made to the neighborhood headmen. "If there is such a large purchase, the vehicle license plates, delivery locations, and dates must be specified in detail in the waybills. Otherwise, the way these public resources are used must be questioned," he said.
