Siirt was one of the provinces where a certificate of election crisis occurred following the March 31 Local Elections.
During the objection process in Siirt, DEM Party MP Sabahat Erdoğan Sarıtaş attempted to enter the courthouse.
Tensions rose when Police Chief Necmettin Öztürk did not allow Sarıtaş to enter the courthouse.
Sarıtaş asked Öztürk to step aside, saying, "Will you step aside? Mind your distance. You are committing a crime. These are the state's police, not yours."
"YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR THE STATE"
At that moment, Police Chief Öztürk told Sarıtaş, "Do not wag your finger at me. I am not stepping aside. Do not let her in. And you, do not approach the police, stay away from the police. You are not a member of parliament for this state. You are not my interlocutor."
