Stating that those arrested are members of the MHP and the Grey Wolves, Ayşe Ateş said, "When you look at the 17 people under investigation, an impression is formed as if the alleged institutional attack was carried out from within. Sometimes one should not look for the enemy far away," she said.

Ayşe Ateş, the wife of the murdered Sinan Ateş, answered questions from Sözcü newspaper columnist İsmail Saymaz.

You gave a statement about Kılavuz on April 17, 2023. An investigation was launched into Kılavuz one day later. However, his statement was not taken because he was a member of parliament.

Tolgahan Demirbaş was caught in the house where Kılavuz was staying. There is a cover-up there. There is no document stating that he was caught. After the murder, there are FaceTime calls between Kılavuz and Demirbaş. The connection is very clear.

I had requested that Kılavuz's records—where he went on the day of the incident, where he came from, what he did—all be examined in detail. I believe that concrete evidence can be reached when examined. A political hand is protecting these criminals. They are being protected and shielded.

Kılavuz says, "I am not dishonorable enough to be involved in such a dishonorable event. If I had even the slightest involvement, I would shoot myself in the head and kill myself."

- For some reason, there is always talk of 'shooting in the head' in this group's jargon. They use expressions like 'I'll shoot myself in the head' even to be convincing. They have internalized shooting in the head so much that it must be a reflection of their subconscious.

Also, one must ask: Where was his mind until now? The day after Sinan was murdered, he was busy shamelessly sending New Year's messages and celebrating birthdays.

- I find these statements neither sincere nor convincing. I think they have fallen into a disagreement among themselves.
