Brother of former AKP minister appointed as ambassador to Bahrain
New ambassadorial appointments to five countries by presidential decree have been published in the Official Gazette. The appointment of the sister of a former AKP minister to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Kingdom of Bahrain has drawn attention.

The decree containing the new ambassadorial appointments to five countries by the President has been published in today's issue of the Official Gazette.
According to this decree, Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak, Director General of Information Technologies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
REVEALED TO BE THE SISTER OF A FORMER MINISTER
It has been learned that Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak is the sister of former Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, who is from the AKP.
Koytak was appointed as ambassador to Kuwait in 2017 and was recalled to the ministry headquarters in June 2022.
With this new appointment decree, Koytak will undertake Türkiye's diplomatic representation in Bahrain. Along with the decision published in the Official Gazette, ambassadorial appointments to four other countries were also announced.
