In a written statement, the SOL Party stated that the one-man regime has lost public support.
"We Will Send the One-Man Regime Packing Together", the statement emphasized that the government aims to establish a dictatorship that would render elections merely performative.
Stating that there is no longer any basis for a cautious approach toward the call for disarmament by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, the SOL Party said, "It is understood that as long as this government remains, both peace and democracy are nothing but a grand illusion."
The statement, which called for united organization and struggle in every sphere of public life, ended with the words, "The Palace regime will definitely, absolutely lose, and the people will win!"
The full text of the SOL Party's statement is as follows:
"The political Islamist one-man regime, which has fallen into the minority and is being dragged toward defeat step by step, has lost public support. For this reason, as the only way to maintain its power, it is trying to establish a dictatorship where elections, which it will build through pressure and tyranny, become merely performative.
'THIS OPERATION WAS THE LAST STRAW'
The endless operations against different segments of the opposition and the appointment of trustees to municipalities have been implemented as part of this. The latest application of these injustices was carried out against Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was preparing to announce his presidential candidacy against Erdoğan, and his colleagues. This operation was the last straw, bringing the accumulated anger of the people to the surface.
The protests that have been spreading across the country for days are the clearest indicator of how helpless and doomed to collapse the one-man regime is, which is trying to stay afloat through pressure and tyranny. The struggle is now rising in the hands of the people—workers, retirees, students, women, and youth who have taken the stage to claim their destiny. Along with the surpassed boundaries of the bourgeois opposition, the war of words in the parties' Tuesday group meetings, the fancy speeches made from parliamentary podiums, personal ambitions, calculations, and factionalism within the opposition have lost their meaning.
The CHP, leaving aside the delusion of 'normalization' it followed after the March 31, 2024 elections, was able to stand against the coup process by relying on the united power of the people and social opposition on the streets. On the other hand, the cautious stance of broad segments of society in the face of developments starting with Devlet Bahçeli's call and revolving around Abdullah Öcalan's letter has been replaced by deep suspicion following the March 19 civil coup.
'AS LONG AS THIS GOVERNMENT REMAINS, PEACE AND DEMOCRACY ARE AN ILLUSION'
It is understood that as long as this government remains, both peace and democracy are nothing but a grand illusion. Deceptions such as 'we are solving the Kurdish issue,' 'there will be peace,' etc., should not be turned into an opportunity by the government to sustain this rotten regime. New constitutional traps aimed at keeping this regime alive and paving the way for Erdoğan's presidency must be rejected unequivocally, and the government's operations to divide the opposition must be rendered futile.
As the AKP-MHP criminal partnership drifts further away from its own people, they think they will protect their power by leaning on the US and Trump, making concessions to their imperialist masters, and acting as a prop for the new Middle East policy of the US and Israel. What they have not calculated is the power of the people they have dragged into poverty and misery; what they have not calculated is the courage of the youth whose future they have stolen. It is the revolutionary-democratic accumulation of this country that does not bow to imperialism and fascism.
CALL FOR A UNITED STRUGGLE
The SOL Party will take initiative and responsibility for the organization of a united popular opposition in this historical period, just as it has done until today, against political Islamist fascism. We will carry out the struggle as a united struggle in every field against the government's pressure, which will increase with new operations. We will develop the legitimate and democratic opposition of the people by multiplying forms of united organization and struggle in every area of life.
The primary task ahead is to get rid of the one-man regime. This is the path to winning the right to justice and a humane life, to the development of democracy and freedoms, and to opening the doors to peace and brotherhood wide.
'THE PEOPLE WILL WIN'
Let us move forward by developing our united power step by step for the true liberation of all working peoples—Kurds, Turks, Alevis, and Sunnis. As long as this united and determined struggle of the people and the joint action of the entire opposition continue, no one will be able to take these people captive; the Palace regime will definitely, absolutely lose, and the people will win!"
