Following the May elections, there was a significant renewal in both the AKP's parliamentary group and the Presidential Cabinet.

While approximately 65 percent of the MPs changed, former ministers also began serving in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

According to a report in Gazete Duvar, the decision to make the ministers MPs was interpreted as a move to ensure "strong representation in Parliament," "bring dynamism to the election process," and "send a message of change to the public." However, there were also those who evaluated this decision by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as, "He wants to part ways with some ministers, especially the Interior Minister. He went for such a collective change to avoid creating resentment."

'THANKS TO ME, YOU ALL BECAME MPS'

A striking claim has emerged regarding AKP Istanbul MP Süleyman Soylu, who had remained silent after handing over the Interior Ministry to Ali Yerlikaya.

It was alleged that during a conversation, Soylu jokingly teased some former ministers who are now MPs by saying, "Thanks to me, you all became MPs."
