Statement from AKP figure mentioned in Gökhan Zan audio recording: 'It's obviously a lie. There is no AK Party building in Hatay'

AKP Hatay Deputy Adem Yeşildal, who was mentioned in audio recordings allegedly belonging to Gökhan Zan—whom the TİP withdrew from candidacy—has issued a statement.

"MANIPULATING THE ELECTION"

According to T24's report; Yeşildal, highlighting the claims in the audio recordings that Zan was called from the AKP provincial headquarters' restroom, stated: "I reject the allegations. I do not know the individuals involved, and I have had no contact with them. Since my name was mentioned, I will file a criminal complaint against these individuals. It's obviously a lie. There is no AK Party building in Hatay. We are providing services from a container. Those who think they will lose the election are manipulating the election. These audio recordings have been talked about in the city for two days. I had no prior contact with Gökhan Zan. I did not discuss these allegations either," he said.

AUDIO RECORDINGS ALLEGEDLY BELONGING TO GÖKHAN ZAN

Turgay Kocakaya: “Gökhan, 3 million is settled, right? It's clear, there's no problem. It will be delivered to me.”

Gökhan Zan: “Why didn't you say 5?”

Turgay Kocakaya: “I'll continue, I made an offer. I couldn't say anything without asking you.”

Gökhan Zan: “Say 'I want 5'.”

Turgay Kocakaya: “I'm talking quietly from the restroom. I'm at the AK Party Provincial Headquarters. Inside are AK Party candidate Mehmet Öntürk and Adem Yeşildağ. I talked about what we discussed during the day. There will never be a withdrawal from candidacy, I already said we guaranteed this. They are offering three million. My cousin said there, 'Well, some position, but what is meant by position? Ministry of Sports, or municipality, or the presidential complex? Let them ask us, and we will inform the headquarters. We will get back to you with a positive or negative answer, Mr. Turgay' they said.”

Gökhan Zan: “Brother, it could be anything. It could be sports commentary on TRT. It could be related to Hatayspor. For example, if we take over Hatayspor, it could be something like sporting director, CEO, or president of Hatayspor.”

Turgay Kocakaya: “Okay, my dear. We talked so much that, thank God, they received it very well. Coffees, chats, they received it quite well. I also brought one or two gifts.
