Victory Party Spokesperson Azmi Karamahmutoğlu made evaluations regarding the agenda at a meeting held at his party's headquarters.
Stating that security in Turkey has been compromised and a major environment of distrust has formed in society, Karamahmutoğlu criticized the government with harsh words.
Touching upon the security vulnerabilities specifically occurring in schools, Karamahmutoğlu stated, "The government, which has kept streets and avenues unsafe for many years, can no longer ensure the safety of our youth in schools either. The AKP government does not accept responsibility for the armed attack that darkened the lives of nine families. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin insists on remaining in office, while the Minister of Interior continues his duty without taking responsibility for the safety of our children. Resigning in response to the pain of the families who suffered the loss does not even cross their minds."
"EITHER EARLY ELECTIONS OR BY-ELECTIONS ARE A MUST"
Speaking on the issue of by-elections, which is frequently discussed on the political agenda, Karamahmutoğlu continued his criticisms of the government.
"The AKP government must rapidly hold the by-elections required by the Constitution or go to early elections. It is out of the question for us to carry this government until May 2028. Continuing on this path with the AKP for the two years ahead has turned into a nightmare for our country. Turkey should no longer carry this burden; either early elections or by-elections must be brought to the agenda," he said.
"CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT IMPOSITION IS UNACCEPTABLE"
Karamahmutoğlu also touched upon the new solution process being pursued by the ruling party under the claim of a "Terror-Free Turkey." "They want to turn a terrorist leader into a chief negotiator and are trying to convince society of this. All these initiatives are being imposed through a new constitutional amendment. The Turkish nation will absolutely not accept such a constitutional imposition that threatens its sovereignty and the Republic. No one has dared to present the new constitution prepared so far to the public, and it will not be possible to bring it before the public from now on either," he said, conveying their determination regarding the current process.
"CRITICAL CALL FOR TURKEY-US RELATIONS"
Expressing that the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack should leave Turkey, Karamahmutoğlu stated, "The behaviors exhibited by Tom Barrack in the Arab geography are unacceptable. The withdrawal of the US Ambassador from Turkey would be much healthier in terms of diplomatic relations between the two countries."
Karamahmutoğlu's statements have once again brought a new election debate and criticisms of the government's actions to the political agenda.
