While the detention of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu continues, posters of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were hung on billboards in Istanbul for the first time in 6 years.
It has been learned that the slogan "Our Surname is Turkey," used in the posters prepared by the AKP for Eid al-Adha, was used by the Peace Party, which was founded 28 years ago, and has been adopted by other politicians from time to time.
The slogan in question was most recently used by the elected Mayor of Esenyurt, Ahmet Özer, who is currently imprisoned in Silivri Prison.
The fact that the slogan is plagiarized has created a crisis within the AKP. This situation has strengthened claims that the resignation of the party's promotion and media director, Faruk Acar, is expected. According to the report in Oda TV, Acar's resignation could take place in the near future.
Faruk Acar was born in Bursa and is a graduate of the Department of Sociology at Istanbul University. With the Andy-Ar Research company he founded in 1999, he achieved first place in 11 elections. Acar, who served as Erdoğan's campaign director in 2018, is also the creator of the "Time for Turkey" slogan.
