Striking analysis regarding Erdoğan within the AKP! 'He sees it, but nothing changes...'

While citizens have been struggling to make ends meet due to the economic crisis, the luxurious and ostentatious lifestyles of some AKP members following the March 31 Local Elections have sparked debates both in the public eye and within the party.

AKP members who have gone out to the streets stated that they have heard criticisms from citizens such as, “The government is not practicing austerity, and the bill is being loaded onto the citizens. Erdoğan sees these things, but nothing changes.”

In this regard, it has been learned that the trust placed in AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has also been damaged.

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, while there was previously a perception among the public in the face of problems that “Erdoğan is good, but his circle is bad,” it has been learned that in recent years this perception has been broken and has begun to shift toward the view that “Erdoğan is distancing himself from the people.”

Within the AKP, it has been learned that the following assessment is being made: “A reaction has recently been developing among the public that ‘the rich are getting richer, while the poor are becoming increasingly poorer.’ When we go out into the field, we hear criticisms from the public saying, ‘While you live in luxury, we are thinking about how to bring bread home and how to pay our rent.’ It is not just the economy; problems in the health and education systems are also confronting us on the streets. Retirees, for example, ask, ‘Why have you abandoned us to hunger?’ Along with this, the Polat couple's case and the careless behavior of some of our party members, who make headlines with their watches, vehicles, and what they eat and drink, are drawing a major backlash from the public.”

Party members who stated that they have explained this problem to Erdoğan in various meetings shared the following view:

“The President's vote share is always higher than the party's vote share. However, the recent evolution of the public's perception from ‘The President is good, but his circle is bad’ to ‘The President is also responsible for these hardships. Citizens are asked to practice austerity, but those in power, starting with his own party, do not practice austerity. The bill for the poor economy is always loaded onto the citizens. Our President sees these things. However, nothing changes,’ is a problem. This situation could bring defeat to the party in 2028.”
