Striking claim regarding DEM Party's Istanbul candidate: Başak Demirtaş's alternative is ready!

Kısa Dalga columnist Sedat Bozkurt has put forward a striking claim regarding the DEM Party's Istanbul candidate.
According to Bozkurt's report from behind the scenes, the DEM Party will nominate Meral Danış Beştaş if Başak Demirtaş does not run.
In his column, Bozkurt, who included the statement, "(...) It is possible to calculate that if Başak Demirtaş becomes a candidate, the DEM's vote share in Istanbul will increase significantly," continued as follows:
"The Green Left Party received 8 percent of the vote in Istanbul in the last elections. Being a female and Kurdish candidate increases Başak Demirtaş's potential to receive votes from other parties, including the AKP base. Let us also add that the TİP's vote share in the last elections was 4 percent and that there is a possibility they may not field a candidate. Those voters have a greater habit of voting for the parties represented by the DEM today than for the CHP.
If Başak Demirtaş does not run, the DEM's alternative is also ready; Meral Danış Beştaş. The Istanbul elections have really started to take a very interesting turn."
