Striking comment from İYİ Party chairmanship candidate Müsavat Dervişoğlu on allegations: 'It was said he was Meral Akşener's candidate'

The İYİ Party, which performed poorly in the local elections, did not achieve the desired results in the elections it entered independently. Following these results, Meral Akşener decided to hold an extraordinary congress. One of the chairmanship candidates, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, responded to the allegations against him during a program he attended.

Müsavat Dervişoğlu, one of the candidates for the İYİ Party chairmanship, made statements during a live broadcast on TV100.

Regarding allegations that he would be a shadow chairman, Dervişoğlu said, "It is known that I will not work under tutelage. I will not be a shadow chairman."

As a guest on Kübra Par's live broadcast on TV100, İYİ Party chairmanship candidate Müsavat Dervişoğlu stated that he became a candidate after seeing that he could not remain indifferent to the process within his party. 

Stating that if he is elected at the congress on April 27, "We will begin our journey to power on the morning of April 28," Dervişoğlu said regarding the claims that Akşener supports him, "It would be an honor and a source of pride for me."

"IT IS KNOWN THAT I WILL NOT BE UNDER TUTELAGE"

In response to claims that he would be "under the influence of Meral Akşener," Dervişoğlu stated, "It is known that I will not be under tutelage in politics or business. I will not be a shadow chairman." Dervişoğlu added, "I am aspiring to be the beginning of the new, not the continuation of the old."

COMMENTED ON THE GENERAL ELECTION

During the program, where the İYİ Party's decision to enter the local elections independently was also discussed, Dervişoğlu spoke about the issue of alliances and said that if elected, they would again enter the 2028 elections or any early general election independently.

Commenting on the upcoming meeting between President Erdoğan and CHP leader Özgür Özel, Dervişoğlu said, "If I am visited by Erdoğan, I will pay a return visit."
