A striking poll result was released during the days when the indictment prepared as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was completed. A 4,000-page indictment was written on November 11 in the case file, which also includes presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. A public opinion survey conducted during the same period showed that the vote gap between the two candidates has reached double digits.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVESTIGATION

Following operations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on March 19, numerous individuals, including presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and various CHP mayors, were detained.

After a months-long preparation process, the indictment was completed and sent to the court last week.

The prepared file includes 15 secret defendants, and more than 20 years of imprisonment has been requested for İmamoğlu.

DEMAND FOR LIVE BROADCAST OF HEARINGS GROWS

Following the arrival of the indictment at the court, all eyes have turned to the hearing dates.

Today, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli also supported the demand that "the hearings be broadcast live," a request frequently voiced by Ekrem İmamoğlu and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Bahçeli stated that the hearings should be broadcast live on all channels, starting with TRT.

POLL RESULT ANNOUNCED DURING THE DAYS THE INDICTMENT WAS WRITTEN

During the period when the indictment was written on November 11, ALF Research conducted a poll regarding a two-candidate presidential election scenario.

According to the results:

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: 44.9%

Ekrem İmamoğlu: 55.1%
