Striking report from Forensic Medicine: New hospital needed for Murat Çalık

The Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine has made an important statement regarding the health status of detained Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık. The institution emphasized that the bone marrow biopsy performed on Çalık in İzmir was insufficient for a diagnosis, reporting that a definitive conclusion could not be reached.

Stating that the report was prepared completely, the Council of Forensic Medicine expressed that there were no deficiencies or falsifications in the document.

THE DISEASE HAS NOT RECURRED FOR 26 YEARS

In the statement, it was noted that Mehmet Murat Çalık was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in 1999, but the disease has not recurred and symptoms have disappeared over the past 26 years.

Forensic Medicine stated that no pathology report or past treatment document related to this diagnosis was found in the current file.

NO EVIDENCE FOUND FOR LYMPHOMA CLAIM

In the evaluation regarding Çalık's health file, it was reported that no findings were reached to confirm the claim of lymph cancer (lymphoma). This means that some claims brought to the public agenda are not supported by documentation.

The most critical finding highlighted in the report was that Mehmet Murat Çalık must be transferred to a fully equipped hospital where advanced examinations can be performed in order to finalize the diagnosis. Forensic Medicine pointed out that the insufficiency of the current biopsy results hinders a healthy diagnostic process.
