Striking results from a 3-metropolitan city poll! What is the status of support for the mayors?

March 31, 2024 local elections are less than 5 months away. While political parties continue their local election campaigns, public opinion research companies have also accelerated their polling efforts.

Most recently, ASAL Researchshared the results of the surveys it conducted in November in Eskişehir, İzmir, and Mersin. shared the results of its survey.

DOES İZMİR FIND TUNÇ SOYER SUCCESSFUL?

In the survey conducted with 1,600 people in İzmir between November 8-11, "When you evaluate İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer in general, to what extent do you find him successful?" was asked.

The participants' responses were as follows:

Very successful: 8 percent

Successful: 24.5 percent

Neither successful nor unsuccessful: 13 percent

Unsuccessful: 34.5 percent

Very unsuccessful: 11 percent

9 percent of the participants did not provide an answer.

THE RATE OF THOSE SAYING 'I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR TUNÇ SOYER' DREW ATTENTION

To the question, "If there were a local election this Sunday, would you vote for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer?" 31.5 percent of the participants said, "Yes, I would vote for him."

12 percent "Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't" they said. Meanwhile, 48 percent of the participants "No, I would not vote for him" they said. 8.5 percent did not provide an answer.

WHAT IS THE SITUATION IN MERSIN?

According to the survey conducted by ASAL Research between November 16-19 with 1,240 people living in Mersin, Mersin's CHP Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçerwere also in the minority in finding him successful.

"When you evaluate Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer in general, to what extent do you find him successful?" to the question 'Very Successful' those who said so remained at 8.5 percent, while those who said they found them successful came out at 23 percent. 'Neither successful nor unsuccessful' was the response of 16.5 percent, while those who found them 'unsuccessful' stood at 33.5 percent. Those who found Vahap Seçer very unsuccessful were 9.5 percent. 9 percent of the participants did not provide an answer.

In the ASAL poll, "If there were a local election this Sunday, would you vote for Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer?" to the question, 35 percent of the participants 'Yes, I would vote' while giving the answer, 10 percent said 'maybe I will, maybe I won't' Those who said they would not vote for Vahap Seçer stood at 45 percent. 9.5 percent of the participants did not answer the question. 

REMARKABLE RESULTS FROM ESKİŞEHİR

Asal Research asked 1,500 people living in Eskişehir between November 15-18 "When you evaluate Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen in general, to what extent do you find him successful?" they asked.

While 11 percent of the survey participants stated that they found the mayor very successful, 34 percent expressed that they found them 'successful.' The rate of those who said they were neither successful nor unsuccessful was 10.6 percent, while 29 percent found them unsuccessful and 7 percent found them very unsuccessful.
