Student who participated in İmamoğlu protests expelled from dormitory

A third-year student at Trakya University was expelled from the dormitory by the Selimiye Dormitory Directorate after participating in the March 19 protests organized against the arrest of İmamoğlu. The student stated that they were subjected to police violence while being detained and that their phone was confiscated during this process. They also expressed that they were unable to complete their internship due to house arrest.
In the notification sent by the dormitory directorate, it was stated that the student was expelled on the grounds that they "engaged in behaviors contrary to the characteristics of the Republic of Turkey as specified in the Constitution." The notification included accusations such as actions damaging national unity and integrity, the use of flags or symbols, and participation in ideologically motivated demonstrations. The student, however, argued that these accusations were unjust and emphasized that they were exercising their constitutional rights.
